The PCE-RCD 1 tester from PCE Instruments determines the current and tripping duration of differential circuit breakers. The selection of different test currents allows very flexible use of the PCE-RCD 1. Each domestic installation contains one or more differential circuit breakers which interrupt the voltage supply as soon as a leakage current appears.

The PCE Instruments PCE-RCD 1 tester generates a leakage current and determines with what intensity the RCD reacts. Additionally, it measures reaction time. These two parameters, i.e. the current and the tripping duration, are important safety values of a differential circuit breaker. Using the checker is very simple. In addition to the maximum test current, you can set the type of RCD (normal or selective) and also determine whether current or tripping time should be measured.

You can also select whether the test current should start with a positive or negative half wave. Once all these parameters are set, you can start measuring with the press of a single button. The color of the checker screen allows you to quickly evaluate the system. On the large LCD screen you can read the measurement value. The tester emits an acoustic signal when the input voltage is too high, when the earth connection is missing or when the earth potential is greater than 50 V.
